WEEK 1 / WEEK 2 / WEEK 3 / WEEK 4 / ALL-STAR / WEEK 6 / WEEK 7 / WEEK 8 / WEEK 9
K1X, battling for their playoff lives, needed a victory over X-Men to solodify themselves into the #4 seed in the playoffs. X-Men had other plans for them as they sent K1X home with their bags packed Sunday afternoon. With K1X losing, Court Masters obtain the #4 seed and will face the #1 seeded DDN/Sean Bell All-Stars in the Semi-Finals this Saturday, August 18th at 3:00pm. X-Men finishes with the #2 seed and they will face the 2-time defending champions Don't Fah-Get.com (known as Powerful Inc. the last two seasons) Saturday afternoon at 1:00pm.
Nate Brown (silver) goes by Adrian Caravallo (green) as he has everyone marching to his beat, including his teammates and opponents as he leads his X-Men team to victory over K1X. K1X were playing for a playoff spot...a win and they're in...a loss and they're out...and K1X will be looking from the outside come playoff time. K1X finished with a great season at 6-3, X-Men finishes at 8-1, going 17-1 in the past two seasons in the regular saeason. (View box score)
Co-Director Randy Cruz on reactions to X-Men .vs. K1X: "The playoffs were solidified with three teams...waiting on one more team. Wasn't sure if it'll be Court Masters or K1X. Court Masters won a must win on Saturday .vs. PR Pride, with only 5 players, which was remarkable. K1X needed the W over X-Men to be the #4 seed in the playoffs. But the body energy they gave throughout the course of the game told the story...lack of confidence and lack of determination in making the playoffs. They did come on late with a run but with a veteran team like X-Men, they rarely led go of their leads. K1X is a very solid team, if they had "Murder By Numbers" playing Sunday afternoon, the chances of them winning would've been greater. But in the end, it's K1X going home and Court Masters getting the last spot to face DDN/Sean Bell All-Stars which will definately be a goodie "
PR Pride had a mathematical chance of making the playoffs, but needed many things to happen in order for them to slip into the playoffs. One of those things was to get the W over Court Masters...which wasn't the case. In a must win, PR Pride fell short to Court Masters, ending their playoff hopes.
Andre Barrett, looking on and hoping to secure a victory for his team, PR Pride, can look no further as his team lost to Court Masters, ending their playoff hopes and ending their season. Mike Glover, aka "Optimus Prime" led the Masters with 39 points and 17 rebounds. Barrett finished with 34 points, and his partner in crime, "Serious Satellite" Kenny Satterfield, finsihed with 46 points, giving him an average of 40.0 ppg for the season and becoming the only player in league history to average 40+ in back to back seasons. Satterfield also broke his own record, which he set last season (272), for most points scored by a player in a season, which is now 316. (View box score)
Co-Director Randy Cruz on reactions to PR Pride .vs. Court Masters: "PR Pride has a wonderful opportunity to capitalize on the playoff situation. Wins over Court Masters and DDN/Sean Bell All-Stars would get them right in the thick of things. But they couldn't defeat the Court Masters, who only had 5 players on their roster, and the Pride had two NBA players and two 7 footers on their roster, and they couldn't get the job done. Talk about bizarre finished, but this one was very bizarre. If you ask me, I thought PR Pride was on their way to a W, but somehow, someway, the Court Masters ganged up together with only 5 players and stuck it out. They're on their way to the playoffs while the Pride heads to the fishing docks. "
