2008 HITS All-Star Game
K1X OUTLASTS HITS AT SUN STADIUM'S SUMMER CLASSIC
The 2008 HITS All-Star Game lived up to the billing, being the number one spot where you had to be on Sunday, July 20. With the weather being in the upper 90's, crowds filing in galore and All-Stars flooding the courts, there was no choice but to put on a crazy show for the fans, just like the 2007 HITS All-Star Game did the year before.
K1X All-Stars, led by Hoops in the Sun Hall of Famer "Primal Fear" Darren Phillip, defeated the HITS All-Stars 110-106. Phillip led K1X All-Stars with 25 points and 12 rebounds, taking home All-Star Game MVP honors for the second time in his career. HITS All-Stars started off strong in the first quarter, going up 30-20, with eventually leading at the half 51-44. Third quarter belonged to Phillip, as he scored 16 points in the quarter for the K1X All-Stars.
HITS All-Stars began to make their run in the fourth but signs were showing that it was little too late. Missed free throws and missed key opportunities to take over the game cost them the W. K1X All-Stars,with help from James "Stix" Williams (22 points and 10 rebounds)
closed out the deal on another fantastic HITS mid summer classic.
