In Sunday's first game we saw Team 914 show their early dominance in the
2009 campaign by defeating Hoop Street 121-85, going 2-0 on the young season.
Team 914 was led by Jomo Belfor, who exploded for 48 points, hitting 10 three-pointers

In the second game, which has been already considered a classic, saw R2K take on
Pops 5- The Legacy. A brilliant performance was displayed by many great
players in this game, especially R2K's standout Dwight Hardy who scored 51 points - breaking
the HITS record for most 3's made in a game in the process with 11. Hardy was absolutely
magnificent - displaying an array of talent from the three-point shot to getting to the basket
uncontested. But in typical Pops 5 - The Legacy fashion, they weren't going down without a fight.
Steve Burtt, Jr. hit key threes, James "Stixx Williams grabbed every rebound in sight - as well as a third quarter
ending three-point bomb from near midcourt, Keydren Clark converted on three consecutive three-
point plays and Mick Miles threw down put back dunks. In the end, it was R2K defeating Pops 5 - The Legacy in a nail biter, 146-137. Hardy led all scorers with 51 points, Burtt Jr had 39 points and James "Stixx" Williams had 35 points and 20 rebounds. R2K vs Pops 5 - The Legacy Box Score.

In the third and final game of the afternoon saw the upcoming Young Ones of Dyckman take on
the defending champions Bingo's All-Stars. This game came down to "Too Hard to Guard" Adris
DeLeon taking on "Optimus Prime" Mike Glover. One of the quickest and explosive guards in the city
and the reigning Hoops in the Sun MVP going at it. Bingo's All-Stars took the early lead but that didn't
stop te Young Ones from making their comeback. The play from DeLeon, Geo Salvador and Pee Wee Guigun
helped the Young Ones get to within three points at the end. On the other side, Glover was having his way
down in the low block, scoring at will, grabbing rebounds and even blocking five shots.

In the end, with a chance to win the game, Ryan Saleedo missed the shot at the buzzer, sending
Bingo's All-Stars home 2-0 by defeating the Young Ones 106-104. "Optimus Prime" Mike Glover
